The Big Tree Plant

The Big Tree Plant – notice of forthcoming application deadline (Wednesday 14 March 2012)

Funding is available for community and civic groups, or other non-profit organisations to establish community led tree planting in areas that would most benefit (i.e. the trees must be planted in streets or places that are open to all to visit or where local people will benefit from them).

Whoever owns the land must give permission and support to the project, and there must be a plan to care for the trees after they are planted.

Groups working in areas where more trees would help improve residents’ quality of life are strongly encouraged to apply.

The application deadline is 14th March 2012.

The Grants Panel will meet once all applications have been processed and then to decide whether to approve, to add specific conditions, to recommend re-submission or to reject.

All applicants are contacted after the panel meeting. Successful applicants then receive a formal offer of grant.

For further information, contact The Big Tree Plant Funding Scheme administrator on 0800 856 7984 or go to: http://www.forestry.gov.uk/forestry/INFD-8BHL6Eor http://thebigtreeplant.direct.gov.uk/index.html

This link will also take you to details of the ‘Trees for Schools’ and ‘Community Trees’ schemes.

Urgent! Sept 5th deadline..Win money from NatWest 'CommunityForce'

E-mail Print PDF

At NatWest we know there are lots of fantastic groups of local people making a difference in their community. I am sure you can think of some in your ward. This is why I want to appeal to you, to help spread the word about CommunityForce to these local groups.

In each of our local markets we will be offering three community projects the chance to win awards of £6,000 each. And it will not be us that decide the winners, but local people, your residents, who know the projects and what will benefit your area most.

NatWest CommunityForce is more than just financial support; it is about connecting people to projects. Groups can also ask for help in the shape of volunteering time and expertise from local people on our website.

If you know a local charity, organisation or group which you think would benefit, please ask them to register at: http://communityforce.natwest.com/ by 4th September.

Our goal is to make sure that the Government support we have received is paid back in every sense. Part of that is about supporting the communities in which we work and CommunityForce is one way in which we hope to do that.

If you would like to know more about NatWest CommunityForce, please have a look at the website.

Yours sincerely,

Krystal Miller
